Edith Green

Edith Green has a BA from Boston University and continued her education at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She studied privately with Mo Com from 1963-1979, Davis Carroll from 1978-1984 and with George Dergalis from 1980-1994. Her professional memberships in Massachusetts include: The Copley Society of Boston, The Concord Art Association- Distinguished Artist, The Brookline Art Society - Past President. She was the Director of The National League of American Pen Women (Arts).

Green is a prolific painter who has a special interest in texture. Her collages and mixed media paintings are technically innovative and have reference to peace, poetry, literature and history. She also paints still life watercolors and oils. Her works are simultaneously decorative and meaningful.

Gallery affiliations are primarily in Massachusetts, also in Georgia, Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire and New York. Her participation in many juried shows has brought her numerous awards. Her paintings are in the following collections: The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, Mass., Boca Raton Community Hospital, Fla., Framingham Union Hospital, Mass., New England Telephone Co., ATT-Eaton Financial, Natick, Mass., Raytheon Corp., the private collection of Arthur Jaffe, former Director of The Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh, Penn., and many others. Green has been teaching painting in her Brookline, Mass., studio for over twenty years.
