Polly Seliger Egelson
"Meditation" Fired White Clay and Metal, 17x7 Fired Clay Polly Seliger Egelson is a graduate of Radcliffe College where she majored in tribal art. She is a sculptor, print maker and quilt maker. She is best known for her terra cotta and bronze figurative works and has enjoyed a long and successful career as a teacher of sculpture. Strong forms and earth colors are predominant in her pieces. “I am a humanist working to capture not only the expressive qualities of the human face but more importantly the emotional content and inner life of the person.” Ms. Egelson’s sculpture is included in the permanent collections of Towsen University, Towsen, Maryland, The Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, Mass., and The Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Dennis, Mass., as well as many private collections throughout the United States.
