Naomi Marks Cohan
"Untitled A" Monotype "Untitled B" Monotype "Untitled C" Monotype Naomi Marks Cohan has a strong affinity for nature- its power, its subtlety, its patterns and colors, its consistencies and accidents. She states: “I am not trying to paint a specific sky, rock, or waterscape. I am trying to capture, explode and freeze the force, the energy, and the continuing pattern that nature makes for us in our world. The skies, rocks, and water are my inspiration - my living models.” After receiving a BA from The University of Michigan and a MA from Columbia University, Naomi went on to study at The Cleveland Institute of Art at Oberlin College on a grant from The Ford Foundation. Her subsequent work has resulted in her being included in over forty-five juried exhibitions and in collections including: The Stouffer Esmeralda Resort, Palm Desert, California, The Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Heights and Akron Ohio, The Ronald McDonald House and The Metro General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, The Huntington Bank Corporation in Columbus, Ohio, The Cleveland Heights Ohio City Hall and Renaissance Technologies, New York, N.Y.
