Amy Ellen Albert
"Yellow Tulips" oil on canvas, 22x28 oil on canvas, 24x24 "One Rose" oil on canvas, 18x20 Amy Ellen Albert received a BFA Degree from Tufts University and The School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1976. For twenty-five years she has worked as a Textile Designer and Colorist in New York City. In this field, Amy owned a boutique offering better designer contemporary clothing for women; designed and painted original prints for the apparel market; was Stylist and Vice President of Centennial Textiles Dynasty Prints. From 2001 to the present, Amy has been a Textile and Surface Designer for The Woodstock Studio, Design Works International and London Portfolio of New York. She currently resides in the well known artists’ town of Woodstock, New York where she attended the Woodstock School of Art. She has studied privately with Karen O’Neil who was a student of Provincetown artist, Henry Henche. Amy has been Teaching Assistant to Karen O’Neil since 2002. Today, most of her creative energy is directed to painting still life in oils. Her light filled studio provides the natural light which, falling onto a slice of fruit or onto a teacup, creates moments of true beauty, which she captures on her canvases every day.
